Ratan Basu Majumder Born on 12 December 1947 in Chandsi village of Barisal district. Mother late Biva Bose Majumder and father late Amarnath Bose Majumder. He joined the communist movement while still a student. He was a lifelong worker of the Undivided Communist Party. He remained in the CP-I after the party split.
He left his full-time position due to family responsibilities and joined American Express Bank as a night watchman. Bank employees' unions and various trades
He was associated with the union for many years. He was also a member of the Central Committee of the State Council of the CPI and the All India IPTA. Party in West Bengal
He was in charge of a cultural department. In 1993, he left the membership of the Communist Party due to disagreements on various issues.
He left his job and engaged himself in the movement of language and culture. First Language Martyrs Memorial Society. Later he continued to play an important role as one of the General Secretary of Bhasha-Sanskriti Swadhikar Manch. Served as co-editor of the daily newspaper 'Pratyhika Khabar' for 10 years.
Still actively involved in anti-communalism and NRC movements. He has been playing his role continuously for 35 years in the work of cultural matching between West Bengal and Bangladesh.
