Actor, reciter, director, and organizer Ahmed Hossain is a popular name in the cultural arena of the Bangladeshi-C community. Ahmed has been in acting since his early childhood. As a child actor, he acted in many plays stage locality and later participated in different acting competition organized by Shishu Academy. While studying at Dhak University, Ahmed successfully completed a one-year-long certificate course on acting from Natya Shikkhangon.

Ahmed attended a good number of workshops on acting conducted by internationally famous theatre personality- tes while performing in television dramas and theatres. At the same tme, he practced recitaton, got himself involved with the recitaton organization Abrit Parishad. In his formatve years, Ahmed travelled remote parts of the country as a member of his theatre group and during this tme he got several opportunities to atend the workshops of the theatre maestros like British Theatre Director Debora Warner, German Theatre Director Alexan der StilMark and France Theatre Director Franchsoa. He took full advantage of his tme then by performing under their guidance on stage. Alongside, he participated in many different workshops conducted by Shilpakala Acade- my, Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation, International Theatre Institute Bangladesh, etc.

Ahmed has acted in a good number of plays, some remarkable ones are The Tempest, Konjus, Otoppor Horen Mondol, The Royal Bengal Tiger, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Alta Banu. He has directed several plays on stage as well. Khyatr Birombona, Kumirer Kanna, Horinbari, Joyee, Bibidho Bidhan and Sukkhobichar are some of the names to be mentoned.

Bangladesh Television enlisted artst Ahmed has acted in television dramas in the 80s and 90s. Rupkpotha Noy, Sarabela, Mofossol Songbad, Apod and Shiulimala are some of his viewer-favourite dramas. Besides, Ahmed has rendered his voice for many television programs, Ontorongo Aloke, Jonmobhumi being two noteworthy ones.

Ahmed is an active member of Sommilito Sangskritk Joat, Bangladeh Group Theatre Federaton and former Secre- tary of Loaknatyo Dol. He is also one of the organizing members of Bangladesh Short Film Forum, Bangladesh Fede ton of Film Societes and Enjoy Film Society. Ahmed was the production manager (Bangladesh Part) of the Channel
